AFTER WRITING INKAAR, MANOJ TYAGI GEARS UP FOR A BILINGUAL

Two times National Award winning writer/director Manoj Tyagi will soon direct a Bengali Bilingual supernatural thriller film. Sakshat has been written by Manoj and will be his second directorial venture after his last critically acclaimed film Mumbai Salsa. “This is my first attempt at a bilingual and I have always been intrigued by topics of supernatural and horror,” says Manoj. The film will be produced by Raj Behl of Shri Balaji Mudra Films TV & Video.
Manoj has written many award winning films like Satta, Page 3, Corporate, Jail and Heroine along with Madhur Bhandarkar, Apaharan and many more. He has also written the story of Sudhir Mishra’s next Inkaar and co-written the screenplay and dialogues with Sudhir. “Storytelling is an art for which understanding of life is very important. The core of writing is emotions and not just mere understanding of writing,” explains Manoj.
Manoj had been inspired to write the story of Inkaar after a conversation with a friend of his who works as a Human Resource head in a corporate firm. His friend was tackling a sleazy sexual harassment case at that time and this helped Manoj make a strong foundation for a story that was liked by Sudhir a lot to make a film out of it. “Inkaar will stand out as a film because the audience will enter the theatre thinking they will leave siding with one warring party, but will leave with a confusion about which one is better than the other,” says Manoj.
