Bappi Lehri,Kavita Krishnamurti and Raju ShrivastavPerform at 19th Sur Aradhana Awards

The 19th Sur Aradhana Awards honored renowned artists like Anupam Kher, Bappi Lehri, Lalit Pandit, L.Subramaniam, Kavita Krishnamurti, Richa Sharma,Swanand Kirkire, Raju Shrivastav and Ashok Masti for their contributions to the Indian music industry this Thursday on 20th December at Siri Fort auditorium in New Delhi.
“Sur Aradhana is all set to bring out some real gems from the industry this year. We are glad that we have succeeded in taking the awards this far. The 19th Sur Aradhana Awards will again honor the best talents from different fields in this special year where we are celebrating 100 glorious year of Indian Cinema” said RS Sharma, organizer of the awards ceremony
Shabib Shabri forced the audience to dance on his tunes when he sang songs like ‘Humka Peeni Hai’and Çhalao Na Naino Se Baan Re’. He along with Palak Muchhal were awarded with upcoming artists award. Senior BJP Leader Murli Manohar Joshi honoured Anupam Kher with Global Versatile Actor Award and Dheeraj Kumar with the Life Time Achievement Award for outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema. “I am extremely honoured to receive this award from Murli ji. I thank Mr.R.S.Sharma and Sur Aradhana committee for giving me this award”. Said Anupan Kher after receiving the award.
Punjabi singer Ashok Masti grooved the audience with his most popular song ‘Nit Khad ke’. The Audience stood up when legendary music composer& singer Bappi Da sang ‘Ýaad aa raha Hai Tera Pyar. Renowned comedian Raju Shrivastav took the audience on a laugh riot with his jokes.
Later, the two most beautiful singers Richa Sharma and Kavita Krishnamurthy mesmerized everyone with the beauty of their voices. The evening ended when Kavita Krishnamurthy sang ‘Hawa Hawai’ song which literally forced the audience to stand up and dance.
About Sur Aradhana:
In the past 18 years, Sur Aradhana has awarded several industry veterans including Dev Anand, Dharmendra, Hrithik Roshan, Nana Patekar, the late Amrish Puri and Madhuri Dixit. Last Year Tochi Raina and Mamta Sharma were among the award receivers.
Sur Aradhana Award is one of the most prestigious awards. Sur Aradhana with an idea to promote cultural and social activities started this award in 1971 under the patronization of an art promoter and a social worker Shri R S Sharma. Since then every year Sur Aradhana organises Annual Award function through which distinguished personalities from various walks of life are honored for the excellence in their respective fields. The award ceremony will be followed by a cultural evening.
