Pitbull reveals new single 'Welcome To Dade County'
The music follows the recent online sensation Harlem Shake and is a retaliation record for people who insulted Miami.
February, 2013: Pitbull has come up defending his hometown Miami, with a new single ‘Welcome To Dade County’. The song describes how the self-proclaimed Mr. 305 is proud of his home city and will always voice against people who say negative about the city. The single is sung with the recent online hit Harlem Shake as the background score. His last album ‘Global Warming’ received positive reviews & was released just a few months back.
The song has lyrics which are blunt and are in connotation to the remarks made by a rapper-singer in the past. The lyrics are “You got money, yeah – yeah, that’s sweet. But we are no slimmin’, baby, really eat. You talk Miami, if you talkin’ heat. Moral of the story: don’t shit where you eat”
Pitbull said “Miami is very close to my heart, hence there is a mention of it in many of my songs. It has given me everything that I have currently and always welcomes everyone with open arms. Recently a lot of things were said that I felt were against the spirit of the city so the song is for all those people.”
The song is available on Pitbull’s Soundcloud page.
Pitbull has sold millions of digital singles & has been featured on tracks by various artists such as Usher, Enrique Iglesias, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Cristina Aguilera and Janet Jackson. Pitbull has released 7 albums in his career out of which two scored No. 1’s on Billboard’s Rap Albums charts. (Source Wikipedia)
